Samiya Clothing Store

Samiya Clothing Store is a shop for women and children owned by Fadumo Salad Ali. The family business specializes in cultural clothing of East Africa region and is mainly imported from Dubai where there is another retail location. The store sells popular cultural clothing items like Abayas, Dira, and garbasar—in addition to party clothing. Samiya also carries household items like blankets, carpets, and specialized cookware from the East African cuisine. There is also a selection of men traditional clothing, prayer rugs and prayer clothing.

Samiya Clothing initially opened as a dollar-store business in March 1997, and although it progressed to become the first Somali specialized retail store in Minneapolis, it continues to offer a large number of dollar-store items for the convenience of its customers. The shop will also order hard-to-find clothing items direct from Dubai. Items are usually received with 3 to 5 days from ordering.

The shop is open 7 days a week expect for public and cultural holidays from 9 am till 9 pm.
